On Friday, April 22, 2022, Sunrise Humane Society hosted an event at our facility at 100 Savannah Rd. in Fort Pierce, Florida to pause, reflect on, and celebrate its first year of operation.
The large oak tree on the west side of the grounds was tenderly wrapped with fabric, streamers, and balloons of blue, yellow, white, and green. The morning dawned warm and bright, without any threat of the thunderstorms forecasters had predicted.

A single prayer or wish can change a life!
This sweet Senior Girl came to us when her owners could no longer take care of her, and it’s quite evident that she was truly loved.
She’s truly a SHS Staff favorite - a quiet little girl. When we have guests at the kennels everybody’s carrying on being foolish - she just sits there quietly, wagging her tail, killing you softly with her gentle gaze.
UPDATE: Sasha has been adopted!
This precious senior was found wandering the frigid streets when temperatures dropped below freezing. She was left in unbearable pain as her body was slowly decomposing from the neglect she's undeniably faced.

We have good news: petlessness has experienced a slight down turn in recent years. However, many members of our community still suffer from not having a loving, fur-ever companion to love them unconditionally. Are you one of them?
