Since April 2021 when Sunrise Humane Society took over the animal shelter facility at 100 Savannah Rd, we have found over 1,900 animals new homes in our community. While we have certainly had our trials and tribulations this past year, especially opening a new shelter in the midst of a pandemic, we have much to celebrate. We are grateful to our donors, our staff, our volunteers, and our community for supporting our mission to protect companion animals through sheltering and adoption. This past year has only strengthened our resolve to build a welcoming animal welfare refuge for the residents of the City of Fort Pierce. Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you’ll join us in celebration and gratitude on April 22nd on the shelter grounds. ![]() Photo by Kim Carrillo on Unsplash
