![]() This sweet Senior Girl came to us when her owners could no longer take care of her, and it’s quite evident that she was truly loved. She’s truly a SHS Staff favorite - a quiet little girl. When we have guests at the kennels everybody’s carrying on being foolish - she just sits there quietly, wagging her tail, killing you softly with her gentle gaze. UPDATE: Sasha has been adopted! Meet SashaSasha was owner surrendered to Sunrise Humane Society in November 2021 due to her owners health and being unable to care for her any longer. She is a Chow Chow mixed with Australian Shephard, which makes her on the smaller side. We estimate her to be about 9 years old. She has the calm, laid-back personality of a dog that's been loved, has seen it all, and is ready to spend the rest of her life in easy breezy retirement. Sasha is blind in her left eye but can still see out of her right eye to find her people, and treats! Treats that she takes very gently, as you can see in the video below. She seems to do well with other dogs, too. The other day she was ever in the play yard and next to us was a little Chihuahua full of peas and vinegar coming up barking and carrying on she just went up and greeted him through the fence and then went about her business. We have not tested her with cats, but with her calm demeanor we would not be surprised if she would interact with quiet interest. She was in need of a grooming when she arrived at our doorstep and we have been working on getting her skin and fur back in good shape. So far so good! She walks gently on a leash and does well in active situations. For example, she went downtown with a couple of volunteers for lunch a few weeks back. She was a gem. She relaxed until her people were ready to go. This girl needs to go to a very special place - to someone appreciates a senior and the very extra care and love that she needs! This sweetie is ready to spend her golden years laying by your side. Apply to adopt her today! How To Adopt SashaHere's how to adopt Sasha:
